A measure of beautiful eyebrows in women are the arched shape with brow bone showing below the outer eyebrows. For men on the other hand, eyebrows are relatively lower and flatter.
Eyebrow, especially its outer end can sag down because of gravity or because of downward muscle pull. This commonly happens with age but can be hereditary. Consultation
Pre-procedure consultation is a critical part of any treatment. It not only allows for all questions and doubts to be addressed by Dr. Priti Shukla, one of the top plastic surgeons in Hyderabad, but also allows for planning the way ahead. You may have expectations beyond the realms of reality, the consultation will help align them to what is the best for your body.

Evaluation
Once you have decided to undergo a brow lift procedure in Hyderabad at Ambrosia, you will be evaluated for your fitness for anaesthesia and surgery (if the procedure you choose is surgical) by Dr Priti or if necessary by the anaesthesiologist. Your diagnostic test reports will be studied and you will be examined by taking measurements and clinical photographs for your medical record.
You will sign the consent forms and will be given detailed preoperative instructions in writing.
Surgery
Before taking you inside the operation room, eyebrow will be marked with you standing to shape them to the desired size.
After Surgery
You will need help for the initial few days. Ensure to not indulge in any harsh physical activity that may undo the results of the procedure. Follow the post-operative instructions of your surgeon.
Recovery
You will be advised to rest and avoid physical activity until the incisions have healed. You will need some assistance initially. The recovery period may vary depending on the extent of the procedure, but for the first few days to up to a week or more after the surgery one may expect some swelling and bruising and general discomfort.
About the Brow Lift procedure at Ambrosia clinic in Hyderabad
The brow lift procedure is done to enhance the appearance of the forehead, the brows and general area around the eyes. Since it involves raising the soft tissue and skin of the forehead and brows, the incisions are made along the scalp hairline. The following Brow Lift procedures are offered at Ambrosia, Hyderabad:
Endoscopic brow lift
The surgeon will make several small incisions behind the hairline. A long thin tube with a light and a tiny camera mounted on its end will be inserted through one of the incisions to view the underlying muscles and tissues. Through the other incision, another instrument will be inserted to lift the forehead tissues. These are then anchored in place using stitches. The incisions are then stitched back for healing.
Temporal brow lift
This is done using small incisions just behind the hairline near the temples.
Direct brow lift
This procedure is typically done in individuals with bushy eyebrows to give it some contouring. The surgeon typically removes the skin just above the eyebrows and is easily done under local anaesthesia.
Coronal brow lift
The surgeon makes an incision behind the hairline across behind the hairline across the top of the head, from ear to ear. The forehead skin is then lifted into its new position. The scalp in front of the incision is taken up to cover the scalp behind it. The overlapping skin is then removed and the rest sewn together. This procedure is however not advisable for those who have high or receding hairlines, thin hair or are likely to lose their hair eventually.
Hairline brow lift
An incision is made between the top of the forehead and the beginning of the hairline and a small amount of skin and tissue is removed from the top of the forehead, instead of the scalp. This can help to correct a high hairline. A hairline brow lift used on someone with a high, receding hairline leaves a visible scar along the hairline, depending on the placement of the incisions, scar healing and hairstyle.

FAQ
Are there any visible scars after a Brow Lift Surgery?
Tiny incisions are made along the hairline of the scalp therefore the scars are hidden inside the hair.
What after care do I need to remember after a Brow Lift Surgery?
- Plenty of ice
- Pillows to keep your head elevated for a period of time. This keeps the blood flow away from the treated area.
- Ointment for the incision area prescribed by your surgeon
- Avoid exposure of the incision areas to anything hurtful
Will the Brow Lift Surgery be very painful?
Since the procedure is done under general anaesthesia at Ambrosia, you will be pain free during the surgery. Post surgery there will be some discomfort but the pain medication prescribed by your surgeon should be enough to manage it.
What side effects should I expect after a Brow Lift Surgery?
- Initial swelling which usually subsides within about 2 weeks
- Mild fever
- Itching
- Numbness or tingling
